Coronavirus is Spreading Fear

Coronavirus is Spreading Fear

By Wellness No Comments

During these very tough times, it is no wonder the Coronavirus is Spreading Fear. People are buying an over abundance of supplies and panic has set in for most of the country. We cannot sit around and just get depressed. Our personal wellness needs are at an all time high! Hopefully we can give you some peace of mind and ways to cope with our global situation. Strive has put together a survival guide on how to make it in the Coronavirus Pandemic.

  1. Stay Calm!

You will not make it under any circumstance if you are panicing. I know this is a scary time for us all but just remember to keep your cool. You are more likely to make better sound decisions with a clear head.

  2. Don’t Hoard Supplies!

We understand you need enough supplies to go into hibernation in the event that the world ends and a zombie apocalypse breaks out. Haha. No really tho. We get it. Getting enough for about 2 – 4 months is super understandable but storing enough for 3 years is a bit much. Not to mention you are taking away from other people who need supplies as well. When you hoard you keep someone else from having when they need.

  3. Get What You NEED!

Instead of buying 38 packs of toilet paper, buy things you need like non-perishible food items, water, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, alcohol, antibacterial cleansers, vitamins and probiotics that boost the immune system.

  4. People Have Cooties!

No seriously that’s how you need to be acting right now. Preventing the spread of Covid19 is crutial to humanity. Practice social distacing and when you need supplies, send one person. Don’t hang out with people right now until they say it’s safe.

  5. Sick?

Stay at home! Don’t get other people sick. Self-quaranteen and contact you doctor for further instructions. Everything is constantly changing so check your local news for updates. If all else fails go to the emergency room.

  6. Wear masks!

If you can order you a few masks online. If you can’t afford it watch this video on how to make your own. Wear anytime you have to go in public.

  7. Need Help?

If you need food, shelter, clothes, or anything of that nature you can call 211 from any phone and tell them what zip code you are in. They may also be able to tell you where you can get help with rent or utility bills. They will look up local resources for you that are currently available. Red Cross helps with disasters such as fires and more.

Now What?

Now that your all quaranteened to your home with 38 packs of toilet tissue (kidding) you can now practice some mental clarity and take some immunity boosters.

  1. Take your vitamins and probiotics daily. Do not forget. This aides in boosing your immune system.
  2. Stay hydrated. Drinking a lot of water and gatoraide can keep you from getting dehydrated. This is important.
  3. If you feel like you are getting sick, try cold medicine. If that doesn’t work consult with the doctor. Especially if you have a dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath.
  4. Excersize regularly. If you add excersize to your daily routine, you can help build physical. mental, and immunity health.
  5. Sanitize everything. Wash your hands regularly.
  6. Tell your friends and family members you aren’t allowing company.
  7. Meditate. Spend time in your quiet place and tune everything out. Take the time to relax and forget about your problems for 15 minutes. Gain clairity and calmness.

Ending Fear.

Building Employee Engagement

By Business No Comments

Are you wondering how you are building employee engagement? If you need a little push in the right direction check out this article. Strive continues to bring you some great information that your company can use.

Humans have a basic need for belonging and connection. We’re naturally motivated to develop and maintain personal bonds with others. A lack of interpersonal relationships can negatively impact our health, our ability to adjust, and our overall well-being.

These truths extend to the workplace. Employees want and need to build relationships at work. Personal connections with managers, leaders, coworkers, and customers lead to increased employee engagement and performance.

But studies show that only 5% of workers strongly agree that their organization helps them build stronger personal relationships. The important need for connection is not being met at many workplaces.

How can organizations ensure their cultures create and nurture these engaging relationships? They must understand the impact of workplace relationships and learn how to measure them.

Relationships Matter

When employees have strong relationships with their managers and coworkers, the workplace reaps the benefits.

Employees are more satisfied. Employee satisfaction increases nearly 50% when a worker develops a close relationship on the job. These relationships make work more enjoyable and impact employees’ commitment to their jobs and coworkers.

Managers are less stressed. Stress is the emotion managers feel most commonly at work. But managers experience significantly less stress when they feel they have a good relationship with their employees. When employees better understand their managers’ challenges, they can help solve problems that may lower manager stress levels.

Employees manage conflicts better. Studies show that conflict leads to lost time and less effort at work. Some workplace conflict is inevitable, but strong relationships decrease these uncomfortable interactions. Ensuring employees and managers are comfortable around and respectful of each other reduces the risk of flare-ups.

Employee desires are met. Employees want to work with people they enjoy. Relationships with coworkers are among the top drivers of employee engagement – 77% of employees list them as a priority.

Your Relationship Data Matters

Modern engagement and performance platforms provide access to A LOT of data. This data can help tell an aggregate story of the employee experience at your organization. But to make a real impact on engagement outputs, you must measure your engagement inputs.

Think about how you measure your financial health. You can look at your credit score and determine the general state of your finances. But that won’t give you any insight into why or how you got there.

The why and the how are important in determining what you should do to improve. You need to look at everything that impacts your credit score and other areas of your finances – including your income, spending, debt, savings, investments, insurance, and more.

It’s the same with engagement and performance. You can’t just look at your engagement score to see if you’re improving, maintaining, or declining. You must dig into the why – and examine the inputs.

Many factors impact engagement and performance, but relationships are among the most important. You’ve heard it before: people don’t leave their jobs, they leave their managers. The relationship between manager and employee has the power to make or break an employee’s experience and performance.
